MUSIC. Matt Palmer. Stranger Than Fiction LP.

The internet has been buzzing about Matt Palmer and his new single ‘Break-Up’ with the release of its angry ass video. However, don’t think that ‘Break-Up’ is all Palmer has up his sleeve. He has dropped a 7 track EP Stranger Than Fiction, which is great to hear is getting the buzz it deserves, and moreover, has me personally excited for a full album.

Stranger Than Fiction is full of ready-for-radio R&B/Pop singles with great vocals to match. On the dance track ‘Whatever It Takes’, Palmers vocals are reminiscent of early Craig David. His vocals again take center stage on the ballad ‘Snow’.

I saw the track titled ‘Only Happy When It Rains’ and immediately was excited at the prospect of a cover of one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands, but nope. After the initial disappointment, I got over it. Palmers ‘Only Happy When It Rains’ is his own original work and its HOT! Yet still borrows the hook from the Garbage classic ‘Only Happy When It Rains’ which is good enough for me.

Still, ‘Teardrops’, the EP’s lead single is probably my favorite song on this must download EP. Check the videos for both ‘Break-Up’ and ‘Teardrops’ below. Stranger Than Fiction is out now and available on iTunes and CD Baby now.
