‘Moonlight‘ actors Jharrel Jerome and Ashton Sanders win the MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss. And rightly so. That kiss was so HOT! Jerome and Sanders, who played young Kevin and Chiron respectively, in this years Best Picture Oscar winning film, proudly excepted the award.
The ceremony was hosted by comedian Adam Devine, for the first year as the newly rebranded MTV Movie & TV Awards. The category of Best Kiss is a fan favorite and what many consider to be the award shows best category. Well, next to Best Dance Sequence. Do they still do that one? Anyway, I couldn’t be happier to see some praise for and an award given to some Black on Black gay love. ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
The coming-of-age drama “Moonlight” is one of this years’ breakout films. The Brad Pitt executive produced film, is still going strong on the campaign trail, even with the news of Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce making even bigger international headlines.
“Director-writer Barry Jenkins, playwright Tarell McCraney, and stars Andre Holland, Mahershala Ali, Trevante Rhodes, Alex Hibbert, Ashton Sanders, and Naomie Harris visited the Variety Studio presented by airbnb to discuss their movie, which played at the Toronto Film Festival.
“I find myself attracted to characters that are vulnerable in some way and I feel like all the characters in this piece are vulnerable: They’re black and brown, queer,” Holland said. “It just touches on so many things. It really resonates with me.” “
