TV. ‘Queer As Folk’ Creator Returns With 3 New Shows.

I’m really excited for three shows premiering this month in the UK from ‘Queer As Folk’ and ‘Dr. Who’ writer Russell T. Davies, ‘Cucumber,’ ‘Banana,’ and ‘Tofu’.

Cucumber, Banana, and Tofu are three interlinked shows. Cucumber and Banana are two original drama series, with Cucumber following 46-year-old Henry and his long-term boyfriend Lance in the aftermath of “the worst date night in history,” and each episode of ‘Banana’ will be a standalone story. Tofu, however, is an eight-part online documentary series about real people of all persuasions telling their own sexy stories.

“It’s 16 years since I created ‘Queer As Folk,’ which means I’ve had 16 years to build up new characters, new stories, and new insights into our lives. Across both series, we explore gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender stories, as well as love beyond labels – this is 50 shades of gay, and beyond!” -Russell T Davies

The good news is Logo TV has optioned Cucumber and Banana to air on American television. Being a huge fan of both UK and American versions of the ‘Queer As Folk’ series’ I honestly can’t wait, especially with the cultural diversity of these new series casts. Something that was hugely missing from the ‘Queer As Folk’ series’. Still, no date has been set for Logo TV’s American TV premiere. Will you be watching? Enjoy the teaser and trailer below.
