SUBMIT THAT. UO Queer Film Festival. Call For Entries.

The University of Oregon Queer Film Festival, whose aims to support LGBTQ community through film, is seeking narrative and documentary films and videos in both short and feature length formats.

Rough cuts and works-in-progress are eligible for submission if an exhibition version will be available by January 15th, 2015. University of Oregon student, faculty, or staff members do not pay submission fees.

The festival will take place at Bijou Metro (Bijou Art Cinemas) at 43 West Broadway – Eugene, Oregon.

Frameline39: The San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival is a competitive film festival with cash prizes attached to each of our Audience Awards for Best Feature, Best Documentary and Best Short. Frameline39 also has two juried awards for Outstanding First Feature and Outstanding Documentary Feature.

The San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival accepts online entries submitted via Withoutabox.com, which provides cost-saving, paperless submission to film festivals around the world.

SUBMIT THAT: ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood Short Film Contest.

Essence magazine is accepting submissions for its film competition The Essence Black Women In Hollywood Short Film Contest. In 20 minutes or less, filmmakers must cinematically interpret this year’s theme of “For the Love of Black Women.” One lucky winner will be presented the Black Women in Hollywood Discovery Award at the 8th annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon, February 19, 2015.

The deadline for submissions is December 8th.

SUBMIT THAT. 20th Annual DGA Student Film Awards for Women and Minority Directors.

The Directors Guild of America Student Film Awards for African-American, Asian-American, Latino, and Women Directors are designed to honor, encourage, and bring attention to outstanding minority and women students in DGA selected film schools in the Eastern and Western regions. The awards bring prizes of $2,500 to the winners in each category and $1,000 to Jury Award winners. Deadline is 6. October. 2014.
